(More customer reviews)I have washed and dried this mattress protector twice and have had no shrinkage at all. The backside that goes against the mattress has a plastic type protection but the upper part is a very soft cotton texture. This protector is absolutely spill proof. I accidently spilled liquid on it and it did not leak through onto our brand new mattress at all!!! I am so glad I purchased this high quality mattress protector! I am overall very pleased with it.
