(More customer reviews)I really like this. Short of spending untold amounts on an organic or natural mattress, there's little alternative to keeping your baby from sleeping on vinyl. Most of the mattress pads I saw were lined with vinyl or very thin and didn't provide much of a buffer between my baby and the vinyl lining on her mattress. This provides that natural sleeping surface I'm looking for, and it lets her skin breathe, as opposed to sleeping on vinyl and sweating. I'm not sure it really helps keep her warm in the winter, as the description claims, but it definitely creates a cushioned, snuggly topper that makes her cozy (I'm no authority, but it's not so fluffy that I have safety concerns; I started using this when she was ~4mo old).
Cleaning is a breeze in the washer and I hang it dry. I use a wide comb to fluff the wool afterward, but it may not even be necessary. If you put it in the dryer on no heat, it would probably work the same.
Bottom line- I would definiteyly recommend it and I'm glad I got it. It makes the mid-range mattress we bought seem like a very high-end mattress. :)
